Want to make a contribution to the caption booklet?

We are taking submissions of comics on the theme of “Rebirth” to print and distribute. Submissions should be sent to captionfest@gmail.com by 30 June

Technical Guidelines:

  • Work should be sent as a single layer digital file (PDF, JPEG or PNG) sized to maximum 148mm x 210mm at 300dpi. 
  • There must be a 5mm possible bleed space round all sides.
  • Work should be a maximum of 3 pages per creator, we will  also accept ¼ or ½ page submissions.

Content Guidelines

We admit there can be grey areas here, so if you aren’t sure, you are welcome to run your ideas past a member of the team.

  • Submissions should be considered Safe-for-work (please avoid gratuitous violence, gore, profanity, pin-ups, nudity and sex)  
  • Submissions should be able to be considered a “comic” rather than artwork or writing.
  • No advertisements/extracts. Work can be related to your own creations or work, but must be able to be read on its own merit.
  • All work must be the intellectual property of the creator or have the explicit permission of the copyright holder to be produced.
  • Work must be aligned with the inclusive values of Caption, and we reserve the right to reject work that we feel is not.

Creators will receive 50% of sales with 50% going towards the running costs of next year’s show.

Terms and Conditions 

Submitting work grants permission for CAPTION to use the work in the printed booklet and online to promote the festival. A digital version of the booklet will also be produced. CAPTION is a non-profit event, with all funds generated being used to promote the event and fund future events, no monetary compensation is given to any organiser or volunteer. All work is submitted on a voluntary basis and no monetary compensation will be given for work submitted.
